Almost everyday, somewhere on this planet, a new blues band hits the scene. Some of them get the opportunity to build a career, but most of them only live shortly. Sometimes by lack of motivation or inspiration, or by underestimating 'life on the road'.

However, the band Tantrum has all cards in favor. It's a young band from the UK, inspired by the work of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Rory Gallagher, ZZ Top and Eric Sardinas. This should come as no surprise, given the average age of these guys, which is just twenty... Leader of the band is singer/guitar player Jamie Walker, who seems to know every little spot on his fretboard – which is not as evident as it may seem given his age. He plays every note with feeling and great passion and succeeds in mixing all his influences into a unique sound. He's surrounded by a tremendous rhythm section, with Torsten Christensen, a rock solid bass guitar player, who is playing with confidence and faith. He's a perfect fit to the drums, thus forming a tight backline. Luke Paget is the drummer, whose feeling and dynamics give a natural depth to the band. He introduces lots of variation throughout a set, and gives Tantrum that unique sound, which makes them stand out compared to other bands. During the past four years, these guys have gathered all their skills to create their own personal sound. They've already built up a reputation in the British blues scene, and are considered to be the blues sensation for the coming years. Even Walter Trout was impressed, after Tantrum had been the support act on his last tourconcert in 2006.

The band was very successful on their last visit to the Netherlands, visiting Amsterdam, Vlaardingen, Oosterhout, amongst others. From June 24th until July 4th, and from August 15th until August 24th, they're back in the Benelux area.
