Friday July 11th will be starting day of the 33rd North Sea Jazz Festival. One can again experience, for 3 days in a row, the magic of many music styles with a blues highlight day on Sunday. Friday brings the American jazz and pop singer Al Jarreau, the neo soul artist Angie Stone and funk pioneer Bootsy Collins. Saturday will be the day for Chaka Khan (pop/funk/disco), American jazz guitarist George Benson and soul machine Tower of Power to show their talent. And the blues on Sunday! Etta James, back on stage in Europe after a long absence and now thinner than ever before! But not too to be missed will be the Princess of the Rockin’ Gospel Blues Sharrie Williams with her Wise Guys. Top of the bill will certainly be blues giant Buddy Guy who will finalize this blues day. In between the mentioned sets there will be a possibility to appreciate Alicia Keys, Joe Jackson, Diana Krall and Youssou N’Dour. So said, enjoying another style than the blues is still a fine option too.
