Kelly’s Lot is a typical American rockband who every now and then smuggle some blues into their music. On ‘The Light’ their music sounds somewhat dated, American eighties rock, not refreshing but definitely not bad. There is some variation because they use harmonica’s and a saxophone on some tracks. Without those it would be boring and difficult to listen to all ten tracks on ‘The Light’ without any interruption. The band however sounds good, tight, but not surprising. As a bluesfan I hardly get satisfied with the exception of some tracks like “The Light” , “Tired” and to a lesser degree “Say Yes To Life”. Kelly’s Lot is very popular in the American club circuit and they deserve a chance in Europe.
