Rich Man Falling

Simon McBride the new Irish guitar hero. Well according to the British Guitar Magazine he is the new Rory Gallagher/Gary Moore. Not qua sound but they’re also Irish. And to be honest, a guy who wins prizes at the age of fifteen must have some talents. Well, he defiantly has a pleasant voice and fine guitar skills as we can hear on his debut album ‘Rich Man Falling’. A fantastic bluesrock album with thirteen tracks. Eleven of those are self written and proves he can write as well. With Paul Hamilton on drums and Gareth Hughes on bass we can enjoy a great band at work. That Simon likes to display his talents is obvious, all possible gaps are filled with guitar licks but it is never too much, well done. His exceptional talents are also recognized by other great players and before ‘Rich Man Falling’ saw the light of day he has shared stages with Slash, Steve Lukather and Charlie Morgan just to name a few. All this experience comes back in tracks like ‘Fat Pockets’, ’So Much Love To Give’ and ‘You Got A Problem’. But also the two covers ‘Be My Friend’ from the Free and ‘Power Of Soul’ from Jimi Hendrix are played with fire. Keep an eye out for him.
