Howard Glazer, the blues guitarist from Detroit, was the companion of Harmonica Shah. This is his third solo album with his own band. Thirteen tracks, all written and produced by Howard himself. The openings song 'Liquor Store Legend' is a real "sing along" track, especially when played live. The guitar lick at the beginning of the track 'Let's Go for a Ride', sounds like Chuck Berry. Not really original considering he wrote all the tracks himself. But the tranquil song 'Wonder Why' opens greatly with a fabulous guitar solo. At the background we notice a Hammond organ which gives the song even more body. This is the longest track on the CD, seven minutes fifteen seconds with halfway a splendid solo. In 'Burning Ain't No Fun' we hear a slide guitar with a great arrangement. There are two acoustic tracks on this album; 'Got To Get Going' with lap steel guitar which passes you by at times and. 'Next Train Out' which is a blues rock song performed with a bottleneck, it sounds like you've heard this before. Howard is still into traditional blues without surprises. On this album the bright side is the improvised solos, sometimes with a little adventure. For the collector of this genre of music it's worth a place in his collection.
