Heal My Blues

Dani was 14 when she went to the Bishopstock Blues Festival in England for the first time. Over the years, she saw Sue Foley, Shemekia Copeland and Susan Tedeschi perform there. Susan Tedeschi's performance inspired Dani to follow in her footsteps. Now in 2008, Dani is 21 years old and has just released her debut album, which was recorded in Germany and produced by Mike Griot and Thomas Ruf. Dani wrote all eleven songs. It is immediately clear that she is talented; full of self-confidence she sings and plays the guitar. She gives us a beautiful melodious solo in the song "Bring Your Loving Home", supported by a Hammond organ and harmonica, excellently played by her brother Will. "Heal My Blues" is a strong number with tight accompaniment. At the end of the song all the instruments come together in a roaring finale. And what to make of no less than Ian Parker's contribution on guitar to two songs, "Come Undone" and "Bring Your Loving Home"; and Will "Harmonica" Wilde who shows a strong resemblance to the sound of Charlie Musselwhite? Listen to "I Love You More Than I Hate Myself" and admire how calm and stylish Dani's solo is, with the Hammond in the background. Will's harmonica perfectly complements the emotion. This CD is full of musical variation, which is certainly enjoyable to listen to. Dani Wilde is a natural talent who prepared herself very well and unobtrusively for her debut. A girl to keep an eye on!
