Ottawa, Canada that’s were the 28 year old guitar player and singer JW Jones is coming from. Started in a local pub and now worldwide known. 1998, six tracks are produced on a demo, In order to present in 1999 the first CD ‘JW Jones Blues Band’ to a wider audience. In Canada known as the fastest touring blues act of the country. The two well known fans, Dan Ackroyd and Charlie Musselwhite. But not only for these two fans, JW Jones also played with the greats from the blues scene, amongst others: Junior Watson, Little Charlie & The Nightcats, Rusty Zinn, Rick Holmstrom, Rod Piazza. In the player is his fifth and newest CD called ‘Bluelisted’. A disc full, fourteen songs, with a diverse offer of blues, jazz and soul but with a high West-Coast swing image. ’Double Eyed Whammy’, the opening song of the CD, a song that informs already straight, that we don’t have to sit still in the coming hour. ‘Heavy Dosage’ a jazzy song, fast and controlled JW Jones is running over the neck of the guitar. A song with a high swing impact, nobody less than Junior Watson who has a great deal to it, but also we hear Little Charlie. There are five covers on it and two are from BB King, ‘That’s Wrong Little Mama’ the guitar that with the start of the song is really nice ‘sustaining’ As we know that from BB King. The accompanying sound is really not too diverse from real as one has the idea that the band of BB King is playing. The song ’Waiting On You’ sounds like you don’t hear BB King anymore these days. ‘Mad About You’ an up-tempo song, accompanied by ‘The Wind Chill Factor Horns’. With the song ‘Wasted Life’ we can slow down a little. A magnificent slow song. We can conclude that the fifth Album of JW Jones has brought a magnificent piece of music.
