Biding My Time

A surprisingly good record by a band from London (UK) and environment. The band consists in four members. A couple of times there are also background vocals from producer Joe Leach. What strikes is the fact that it’s all own material. Rob Fleming (vocals/guitar) wrote ten of the twelve songs on “Biding my time”. Personally, the musician Bob Morgan is the artist who makes the best impression on this CD. His way of playing the piano and the saxophone is often present in a very nice and beautiful way. When one wants to give a good impression of an artist, one often seeks a word or description that describes the artist in the best way. However, just putting a label on an artist isn’t a thing that makes them very happy. It wouldn’t give them enough credits for their work. In this case, I’ll still try to give a description of the band in the best possible way. One could typify the style of the band as blues with a touch of soul. The opener ‘Feel So Strong’ is a very nice swinging song. After having listened to this record for the first time, a relaxed feeling made itself master of me and this feeling didn’t disappear after having listened to it for several times. ‘Heart And Soul’, ‘Biding My Time’ and ‘Don’t Want To Lose It All’ all have nice piano parts in them, while on ‘Got My Eye On You’ and ‘All Gone’ one can hear some impressive solos on the saxophone. The songs are all about impossible, lost and broken loves, so things that really give you the blues. My advice: buy this pearl!
