Kwadendamme Blues Festival 'Ride for the Roses' – Team
On 31st August, in Goes, the cycling trip “Ride for the Roses” starts, which is a Dutch initiative in aid of the KWF Fight against Cancer. These funds will go towards research and financing in the fight for: less cancer, more chance of recovery and better quality of life for people with cancer and their nearest. Julia Visser and Kees Wielemaker, two figure-heads of the Kwadendamme Blues Festival want to do their bit by participating themselves. But, they want to ride with a “Kwadendamme Blues Festival Ride for the Roses – Team”. It is their intention to ride together as a group, and all of course will be wearing the T-shirt of the Blues Festival Kwadendamme. Participating in the ride will “cost” you 12 Euro and this will be going directly to the KWF. T-shirt etc will be taken care off by the Team. If you’re in, then send a mail a.s.a.p. to: jlvssr@zeelandnet.nl

"Jam Session" met Klakson Blues Club
With their 3rd activity this year, the Klakson Blues Club wants to try out something new. They want to organise a huge “Jam Session”. What does this mean? Accompanied by “The Excello’s”, inexperienced musicians can join in (jamming) during a few numbers. So, whoever’s interested in strutting their stuff in front of a blues public can contact the organisors, who will settle you in this ‘blues afternoon’. All blues lovers are welcome. Entrance is free and as it is held on a Sunday afternoon, you can bring the kids. This “Jam Session” is taking place on Sunday 25th May and starts at 2pm in “Zaal Rubenshof”, next to the church in Eppegem-Zemst.

Bacon Fat - Mojo-Tour 2008
Julian Sas called them the “ZZ Top of the Benelux”. Five Horse Johnson is a fan and so will you once you’ve seen them. Bacon Fat is a rock-‘n-roll blues trio that since 2001 has done more than 150 shows in the Benelux. After a radical change in the line-up, the second full-CD of Bacon Fat was born in June 2007. The CD received some fabulous criticism of rock radiostations from around the world. After a successful CD-introduction and a few shows in the Benelux last year, the band is going on the road with ‘Mojo-tour 2008” to honour its strong live-reputation. With this new tour, the first shows in Germany are on the programme. If you are crazy about some fatty guitar rock-‘n-roll blues, you should experience a show from Bacon Fat. For more information about the tour, see their website, or via Grease It Up Music.
