With the title "Lester Butler featuring '13' live at Moulin Blues 1998" and for the first time in history, a life concert from Lester Butler will be released on DVD. It's not just a concert, it was Lester's last concert ever. On May 2nd in 1998, "Lester Butler featuring 13" was top of the bill at the Moulin Blues Festival (Ospel, the Netherlands). It became a very intense performance, resulting in a jamsession with people like James Harman, Paul Size and Joe Louis Walker. After performing for 2 hours, nobody could suspect it would be his last concert ever.
One week later, on May 9 1998, Lester passed in a tragical way. He made a big impression on many bluesfans, for many other blues musicians, he was an example and a source for inspiration. Exactly ten years later, the folks from Moulin Blues offer the registration of this legendary performance on DVD, completed with a few private recordings and three tracks from another concert he gave with The Red Devils in 1993.
These recordings were never meant to be released, but the people from Moulin Blues are convinced that this DVD is an excellent way to show some respect for Lester and his music.
The DVD will be presented officially on Friday May 2nd, right before a performance from the Original Lester Butler Tribute Band. Don't miss it!
