The Belgium Rhythm & Blues Festival takes place on July 11, 12 and 13, 2008 and the names of some artists are known. On Saturday we see: Little Feat (one of the best American bands ever with a unique mixture of rock, funk, country & blues), Watermelon Slim & The Workers (the blues revelation of the last two years), Dana Fuchs Band (rollin’ & rockin’ blues from New York), Ryan Shaw (soul music in the tradition of Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding) and from Finland, the beautiful Erja Lyytinen. On Sunday there’s Alvin Lee (guitarist of the Woodstock-legendary British blues rock band Ten Years After), straight from New Orleans comes Jon Cleary (remember Johnny Guitar Watson and Professor Longhair), Marc Broussard (one of the promising white soul artists at the moment), Thorbjorn Risager (a mixture of uncomplicated and extremely beautiful blues and soul) and Dutch blues band ‘Big Blind’. The rest of the names will be made public as soon as possible. The online ticket sale starts on Friday, May 9th, 2008 and from Thursday, May 29th one can purchase tickets in the usual places.
