Eighty-one years old sax legend Big Jay McNeely will on March the 7th give act de presence on the sixth edition of the International Boogie Woogie Festival Holland, at the Regardz Hotel Heerlickheijd in Ermelo.

McNeely, is known as the 'king of the honkers' and precursor of later rock and roll artists such as Elvis Presley. He played with B.B King, Robert Cray and Etta James and he is the inventor of the 'honking and screaming' style, playing his sax lying down on the ground, walking trough room or even standing up the bar. Big Jay is one of the pioneers of the rock and roll saxophone. He got his first number 1 hit in the American Rhythm 'n Blues charts, back in 1949, with the song 'Deacon's Hop'.
